Dimapur, Dec. 7 (EMN): A free IOL cataract surgery camp under the National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB) and co-sponsored by the Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) was held from December 5 to 7 at Community Health Centre (CHC), Medziphema.
The programme began with the SMO Dr. N Sezo as the chairman, while short speeches were delivered by CPO president Vichütuolie Mere and Dr. Asonla Aying Chang, senior specialist DHD. The inaugural prayer was said by pastor Vicha Kuotsu of CRC Loliba Medziphema town.
Meanwhile, CPO has thanked Dr. Asonla Aying Chang and her medical team for attending the three day camp. It has also thanked the SMO Dr. N Sezo and his team for assisting in all the activities. CPO has also thanked SASRD, Nagaland University for the accommodation, ADC Medziphema Vikhweno Chale and M/s Swift Tour Enterprise, Medziphema, for their support in making the camp a grand success.
During the camp, 31 operations were conducted, while five cases of bilateral and four cases of total blindness were operated upon.
