Kohima, July 24 (EMN): Taking another legal swing at the prevailing political imbroglio, former chief minister and president of Naga People’s Front (NPF) Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu and former minister for parliamentary affairs Kiyanilie Peseyie have reportedly filed a case in the Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court against 37 NPF legislators including the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker Dr. Imtiwapang Aier.
Sources said during the day’s hearing, the court rejected an interim prayer by the petitioners’ counsels to make the July 21 floor test null and void. The court is said to have issued notice to the respondents and the next hearing is fixed on July 31 with an endeavour to dispose off the case.
NPF CEC emergency meeting today
Meanwhile, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu has convened an emergency an emergency NPF central executive council (CEC) meeting on Tuesday, 3 pm in the party’s central office headquarters in Kohima.
In yet another order, the NPF has appointed Besüpra Swuro as general secretary, Sebastian Zumvü as press secretary and Atou Liezietsu as associate press secretary to the party’s central office bearers for the tenure 2017-2020 (January 31).
The order was issued by MP Rajya Sabha and Secretary General NPF, KG Kenye.
