- DIMAPUR — Investment
and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and the Department of School
Education’s “Educonnect-a career sensitivity programme 2025” for students of
Class XII began on Friday at Christian Higher Secondary School in Dimapur.
- The activities of career sensitivity programme would include
meeting college representatives, learning about programmes, scholarships and
admissions and getting personalised guidance for their future.
- In his opening remarks, under secretary of IDAN, I
Changsang, informed that the sessions would be recorded and made available to
all the schools, colleges and even to Nagaland university and its subsidiary
units. The recorded sessions, he assured, would benefit the students.
- The event being organised in hybrid mode, it informed that
students in Dimapur could attend at CHSS, while live telecast would be made
available for students of other districts in their respective schools.
- “Career is a choice that we all need to make in our lives.
This EduConnect is an annual programme of IDAN, which will give an opportunity
to the students where they will have time to reflect and ponder about which
career path they need to choose,” Changsang said.
- The purpose of this programme, the bureaucrat said, was to
bridge the gap between education and the career choices.
- “The programme is directed towards helping our students to
make an informed decision because many a times our students lack appropriate
guidance and they really don’t know what career opportunities are available in
front of them or what career path they need to choose while losing out many of
their years,” he said adding that they wanted to bring industry experts,
mentors especially professionals together to provide this networking.
- “In this today’s fast-changing world, the right career path
requires clarity, exposure and guidance. So, EduConnect is an initiative which
wants our students to equip with knowledge and the confidence to prepare for
their next stage of life with the choices that you make are satisfying and fruitful,”
he insisted.
- The extra assistant commissioner (EAC) of Dimapur,
Litsenthung Kikon, who was the special guest of the inaugural programme, lauded
the initiative saying, “this is for the benefit of the students at large which
will shed light on the different career prospects that the young minds can
undertake after completion of their basic degree studies.
- “The selection of career these days is very dynamic and
quite diverse. So having the right guidance and approach are essential for
choosing the right career for oneself. As you are going to embark on a whole
new journey regarding your career after higher secondary studies, you will be
working on different careers.”
