DIMAPUR — Niuland district administration, in collaboration with Niuland Area Sumi Totimi Loka (NASTL), organised a capacity building and outreach programme under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) on August 10.
An update from the district administration stated that the EAC of Niuland, Kelengunuo Solo, was the keynote speaker of the event. He discussed the primary objective of BBBP and the significance of a girl child.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The president of Western Sumi Totimi Hoho, Visheli Yeptho, who was also the resource speaker, emphasised the need to create awareness and provide support and guidance to girls, while the medical officer of CHC Niuland, Dr. Rosemary, spoke about health and hygiene.
It stated that to encourage the girls to pursue academics and ensure no dropouts in the district, three girls were given monetary aid for higher studies during the event. Niuland area women pastors, wives of Niuland area GBs, civil society organisations, women's organisations and NGOs attended the event.
