- DIMAPUR — The
Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employee’s Association (CANSSEA)
has appealed to all its members to participate in the May 20 nationwide general
strike called by the All India State Government Employees’ Federation (AISGEF).
- A press release issued by CANSSEA on Thursday stated that
the strike has been called in response to what it described as the government's
neglect of employee welfare.
- The decision was taken during a two-day National Executive
Committee Meeting of AISGE held in Udaipur from April 26 to the 28th, hosted by
the All Rajasthan State Government Employee’s Federation.
- The meeting, attended by presidents and representatives from
various state government employees’ federations, saw unanimous adoption of key
resolutions aimed at safeguarding the rights and welfare of government
employees across India.

- According to AISGEF president Subhash Lamba, repeated
appeals made to both central and state governments regarding pressing issues
have been met with silence, leaving the federation with no other option than to
organise a strike.
- “We are left with no choice but to take to the streets to
protect the future of millions of employees who serve the nation diligently,”
Lamba stated.
- The strike is being called in support of eleven key demands,
including the repeal of the four Labour Codes and the PFRDA Act, scrapping the
NPS/UPS pension schemes, regularising contractual employees, halting
privatisation of PSUs, constituting State Pay Commissions with timely
revisions, releasing pending DA instalments, implementing comprehensive health
insurance, abandoning the National Education Policy (NEP), and upholding the
secularism enshrined in the Constitution.
- CANSSEA, a federating unit of AISGEF, was represented at the
meeting by president Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao, general secretary Yhunsenlo Kent,
and press secretary Siewatho S Nyusou.
