
Incumbent NDPP legislator from 39 Sanis assembly constituency in Wokha district, Mhathung Yanthan, on Saturday held a declaration programme in Lakhuti village playground.
Speaking at the declaration programme, Yanthan said that much could not be achieved during the last five years due to the pandemic. Yanthan, however, stated that he has devoted his whole self for the welfare of the constituency despite the limited time during his tenure. He added that with or without COVID-19 much was achieved.
He expressed that Sanis block is the heart of the Wokha district and needs major infrastructural development. He also shared that many projects and developmental activities are in the pipeline for which he has sought unflinching support from all the villages under 39 Sanis AC.
Yanthan has assured to selflessly serve with commitment for the greater interest and welfare of his constituency.
He also appreciated the leadership of Neiphiu Rio for bring about development in the area.
Various supporters, well-wishers, and NDPP party workers from the Wokha region attended the programme.

BJP candidate from 33 Suruhoto Assembly Constituency, H Khehovi, has declared his candidature for the upcoming state assembly election during a programme held at Old Suruhoto play ground on Saturday.
In his address, Khehovi expressed his gratitude to the BJP party leaders at the central and state for reposing faith on him by issuing the BJP ticket. He has affirmed commitment to work towards the uplift and development of Suruhuto-Asuto area and appealed to the electorates to cast their votes in his favor.
Stating that the mantra of the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was for peace and development, Khehovi said that there has been visible changes during the BJP rule which has uplifted the socio-economic status of the common man.
He cited certain flagship programmes like Jal Jeevan Mission, Prime Minister’s Awaz Yozana, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojna, Janani Suraksha Yojana etc which have benefitted the rural sections of people across the country including the people of this constituency.
The BJP candidate, who is seeking the second term under the BJP ticket, stated that the first battle for ticket approval has been won and the next battle would be decided through the verdict of the electorates of Suruhuto-Asuto area, an update on Saturday stated.
Khehovi stated that during his first term as an MLA, he has learned well and equipped himself better. He has assured to deliver goods to the people if given the chance to represent the constituency again.
Short speeches were delivered by Hekhushe Shikhu, former president of Sumi Hoho, former candidates from the constituency namely Pukhato Achumi, Vihoshe Awomi and Holuto Aye; Vishito Kinimi, former PS to former Minister; Khetoni, Mahila president, and Tokishe Achumi, president Highway Area GB Association, Dimapur.
Rev. Kughato, pastor of Satakha Town Baptist Church, led the congregation in bestowing prayers of blessings on the candidate.

BJP official candidate for 15-Southern Angami-II Assembly Constituency, Kropol Vitsu, on Saturday launched the election campaign at K Khel Ground in Viswema village under Kohima district.
The constituency is the only seat given to the saffron party in the 20:40 seat sharing between BJP and NDPP for the February 27 election in Kohima district.
Seeking the blessing of the village, Vitsu stated that he could not do much for the development of the constituency in the past due to internal crisis within the NPF party from which he had won. He, however, asserted to give his best and bring more development in every sector. He also dismissed the propaganda of BJP as a religious party saying that religion and politics are different.
Also speaking on the occasion, the president of BJP Kohima district, Khrielie Üsou, informed that BJP did not have any candidate in Kohima district in the last election due to seat sharing arrangement between BJP and NDPP. He expressed confidence that, if elected, Vitsu would be the BJP leader for Tenyimi, Kohima, Peren, and Phek under the coalition government.
He, therefore, appealed to the electorates to for Vitsu in order to bring about development in the region.
BJP representatives from Khuzama, Kezoma, Kezo Basa, Kezoma Urban Station, Sakhabama, P Khel and Z Khel have extended support to Vitsu.
