Dimapur, May 22 (EMN): Dr. Anjana Phukan Memorial Foundation, an NGO from Guwahati, and the Indian National Fellowship Centre (INFC), NGO from Mumbai, have jointly conducted a cancer screening camp for women in Pfutsero and Wokha on May 18 and 19 respectively. The screening camp was initiated by the state governor PB Acharya.
The team led by Ron Barooah with specialist doctors from Guwahati including Dr. Shobhasmita Borthakur, Dr. Tanma Saikia Das and nurses Ms. Manabika Nath and Ms. Susmita Deka screened a total of 425 women for cervical and breast cancer.
The team collected pap smear for early detection of cervical cancer and performed VIA and clinical breast examination. Gynaecological consultations and awareness talks were given to participants and free medicines were distributed.
