Shamator administration launches awareness campaign on combating child trafficking with posters in local dialects and Hindi.

DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Shamator, Chubatemjen, along with Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Mekato J Aye, flagged off a poster and awareness campaign on “Combating Child Trafficking” in Shamator on Monday.
According to a DIPR report, the programme was launched by the district administration in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Shamator.
The campaign aims to sensitise the public on the prevention of child trafficking and the protection of children’s rights through posters prepared in local dialects, Hindi, and English for wider outreach.
The posters will be displayed at the office of the deputy commissioner, police station, community health centre, office of the Specialised Adoption Agency (SAA), office of the Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) for distribution to all government schools in the district, all wards under Shamator, taxi counters, and other public places in and around Shamator town.
The district administration stated that sustained grassroots awareness and community participation are essential to combat child trafficking and safeguard children and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
