A cycle rally under the theme ‘Call of Brahmaputra’ which was flagged off from Imphal by the Chief Minister of Manipur on Friday reached Kohima on Saturday. The rally will passes through the States of Manipur, Nagaland, Assam and Meghalaya covering a distance of 750 km and finally concluding at Shillong on March 222 after a 10 day journey.
Interacting with representatives from NSS, Youth Net and officers from the department of Youth Recourses & Sports at Hotel Japfu this evening, president, Swanand Adventures, Pune , Sanjeev Shah said that ‘Call of Brahmaputra’ is an initiative of ‘Sarhad’ and it aims to reach out to the youth and the people of the ‘Seven Sister States’ to convey them a message to work together towards creating a peaceful, stronger and progressive region. He explained that Swanand Adventures, a Pune based organization has joined hands with Sarhad for this rally to also give the message of peace and brotherhood along with physical fitness. Governor of Nagaland, P.B.Acharya will flag off the rally at 6 am on Sunday from Raj Bhavan, Kohima for their onward journey to Dimapur.
