
Dimapur, Jan. 15 (EMN): The 21st session of Chokri Area Baptist Children Fellowship (CABCF) got underway in Thenyizu village under Phek district on January 14 on the theme 'The master needs it.' The session is being hosted by Thenyizumi Baptist Church.
The speaker of the introductory service, pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church (CBC), Medziphema town, Edechoi Rose, said that it was never the plan of God that ‘one of the little ones should not perish.’ Asserting that ‘words wound more than gun,’ Rose urged the gathering to mind their words before speaking out.
He challenged the children to live in the likeness of Christ and be an instrument of love and peace reminding them that 'it is faith that enables us to walk in the righteous ways' and told them to grow in faith.
Further the speaker urged the parents and the teachers present to teach and train the children in the way of God, so that even when they grow up they would not depart from it.
Thepuzhoyi Theyo, pastor of Thenyizumi Baptist Church (TBC), delivered the welcome address, while songs were presented by Chesezu Baptist Church and K Bawe Baptist Church. Scripture was read out by Vevozolu Rüho and the programme was led by Verhata Resu.
In the inaugural ceremony, the children and education department of Thenyizumi Baptist Church performed a choreography, while the chairman of Chokri Area Baptist Churches Council (CABCC), Rev Vevotso Theluo hoisted the flag and offered a prayer.
The three-day programme speakers included Vesakho Thisa, director of Children and Education department of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC); Edechoi Rose, pastor of CBC Medziphema town; and Cünehülu Rhakho, former director of CBCC children and education department.
A total of 834 delegates from 10 units of Chokri area baptist churches are taking part in the programme.
