
Dimapur, May 12 (EMN): Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) has launched its branch office in Kohima during a programme held at the Gorkha Public Panchayat Hall Complex, Chandmari, on May 10 under the chairmanship of Bishnu Bhattacharjee, BVP regional secretary (NE), while the team also pledged to work for the needy as per its guidelines.
An update from BVP stated that Rupin Sharma, director general of Prison, CDS Home Guards, graced the programme as the chief guest and Prakash Thakur, BVP regional joint general secretary, as the guest of honour.
It stated that Prakash Thakur has highlighted the aims, objectives and projects of the BVP. It added that blankets were distributed to some needy people of the society.
Speaking on the occasion, Rupin Sharma has stressed on having a diagnostic and treatment facility for the poor people in remote areas. He also called upon every individual to come forward in different ways as per their capacity in serving the society.
Meanwhile, Santu Thapa has been elected as president of Kohima branch along with Pawan Lodha as general secretary and Bimal Bhattacharjee as treasurer.
After the installation programme, Prakash Thakur held an executive meeting with newly elected office bearers of BVP Dimapur branch led by its president, Yoginder Gupta; general secretary, Arijit Sharma; and advisors Juwel Acharjee and Dr. DR Sharma. During the meeting, Thakur informed that two recent projects namely training on modern weaving machines and beekeeping technology would start from June 1 under the supervision of BVP Dimapur branch.
