Dimapur, May 24 (EMN): Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) has announced to organise a state-level inter-school quiz competition on the theme “Bharat Ko Jano” (Know your country) on June 16 at SD Jain Higher Secondary School auditorium, Dimapur.
“Bharat Ko Jano” quiz competition is organised among school children and college students in state, regional and national levels to enhance their awareness about the distinctive features of the country and its culture. The competition would be conducted in two groups, wherein Group A would comprise of students from Classes VI to VIII and Group B from Classes IX to XII.
The aim of the competition was to inspire youngster of the country and those living abroad to love and be proud of their country, region and state. It also aims to mentally prepare them to make some sacrifices for the all-round development of the state and country and propagate its greatness to the world with knowledge.
The quiz would be mainly based on history of India and North East, geography, culture, polity and constitution, books and authors, sports and entertainment, literature and personalities and other miscellaneous subjects like founders, important dates, recipients of important honours and prizes, historical places and facts, projects, scientific achievements and current affairs.
A consultative meeting was held at Hotel Silhouette, Dimapur, on May 20 with the office bearers in the presence of Pramod Singh, president of Dimapur branch, and Bishnu Bhattacharjee, regional secretary of Bharat Vikas Parishad, and other delegates.
The house selected Pankaj Debnath as convenor and Prem Meetei as co-convenor to conduct the quiz competition.
BVP Dimapur branch general secretary, Dr. Ramashankar Shiromoni, stated that the selected group would be sent to regional level to qualify for national level quiz contest under BVP Delhi, head office.
