Dimapur, Jan. 22: Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Public Relations Nagaland, Khekaho Assumi, urged the business community of Akuluto town to contribute their share of responsibility in building up the town.
Addressing the silver jubilee celebration of Akuluto Business Association as the chief guest on January 21, Khekaho Assumi appreciated the contributions rendered by the Business Association in the past as well as in the present day.
“Nothing comes without responsibility and sacrifices,” he remarked. He recalled that in order to build up the town, a meagre collection as membership fee from the Business Association was made compulsory for the general welfare of the town. Saying that this in itself speaks of the sacrifices and hard work put in by its founding members, he termed it as “Local Self Government.”
Quoting the popular maxim “Rome was not built in a day,” Assumi said likewise Business Association of Akuluto town was not built well from the start but through hard work and sacrifice for what it has become today.
Pastor NCRC Akuluto, Vitoka read the scripture, while the pastor Akuluto Town Baptist Church, Mulaho, pronounced the invocation.
In the programme Khakheli Awomi presented a special number, while the chairman of Jubilee Planning Board, Yekikhe Chishi, proposed the vote of thanks.
