Dimapur, September 8: Telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced new unlimited Best Broadband (BB) plan ‘experience unlimited BB 249’ which will go live from September 9, 2016, on promotional basis for a period up to October 31, 2016 in all circles. This was announced by Lungkim, BSNL General Manager, to media persons on Thursday at Dimapur.
“For up to 1GB, users will get speeds of 2Mbps, while after that, users are free to use as much internet as is possible at 1Mbps speed. This plan is applicable to all new customers in Nagaland for the first six months after which the plan shall be converted to BBG Combo ULD 499 plan,” a statement by the BSNL officials said. The data limit for a month is up to 300 GB with data rate of Rs. 0.83 which is less than Rs1 per GB.
The plan also offers free calls within BSNL network with additional facility of unlimited free calls between 9 p.m. to 7 am and unlimited calls on all Sundays to any network in India. The plan is available only for the new Broadband customers and installation charges shall be waived off during promotional period, informed BSNL officials.
Proving BSNL offers cheaper tariff in comparison with the newly launched Reliance Jio plan, BSNL officials said that while Reliance Jio offers 10 GB for Rs 999 for 28 days, BSNL provides 10 GB for just Rs 549 for 30 days and the Reliance Jio plan 149 which provides 300 MB data for 28 days, BSNL has 250 MB just for Rs 56 for 21 days.
BSNL officials are optimistic that the newly introduced schemes will help popularise BSNL landline and Broadband services and promote landline as well as Broadband usage.
