Governor of Nagaland and Assam PB Acharya on Wednesday called for bringing together all the factions (Naga political groups) to Framework Agreement signed between Government of India and NSCN (IM) on August 3, 2015.
The governor was addressing this at the inauguration programme of Janjati Shiksha Samiti’s Vidhya Bharti (VB) Infants Digital Home here at Kevijau village.
He said, the insurgent-filled northeast region has been blessed with the abundance of resources but ‘backward’ region lacks enough electricity and that it was time for people to rise and make progress.
Citing the eastern areas of the state, the Governor said, every citizen in India has equal rights to progress and ENPO legislators need to unite with the state for a progressive Nagaland.
“No one should be neglected and those who are fortunate enough and aware of government schemes should make others aware of the same so that everyone gets the benefits if not it would be a sin on our part” said Acharya. Acharya has time and again stressed on the need to tap natural resources available in the region.
Talking on the education system of the country and Nagaland in particular, he said, despite having only 20 lakh population, the state is fortunate to have more than 2000 schools, 3 universities and many colleges, but the worrying factor is the unemployable situation of the many educated youths due to lack of skills.
‘There is no dialogue between the demand and supply,’ he said, hinting towards the number of graduate youths in a particular field and the job opportunities available. He said, if Nagaland is to make progress it is important to bring their elected representatives ‘in line’ for the sake of development and not just sell their votes.

Parliamentary Secretary for Labour & Employment (including Skills development), Border Affairs Mnhonlumo Kikon gracing the occasion as a guest said the initiative will bridge the digital divide in the country. Though the initiative has challenges ahead, the legislator maintained that the idea conceived will be a revolutionary.
