Dimapur, August 10 (EMN): A bridge on the road connecting Mangkolemba is on the verge of collapsing prompting the administration on Thursday to restrict the plying of heavy vehicles till repairs are done.
"In view of the precarious condition of the Ngisameyong minor bridge, Kumpani ward at Km 9. Longnak-Mangkolemba road, which may give way any moment due to its weakened foundation. It is hereby informed to all the Town dwellers & villages under Mangkolemba Sadar that plying of any kind of heavy vehicles including NST Bus over the said area is strictly prohibited/ banned with immediate effect till the foundation of the bridge is repaired/ restored by the PWD (R&B) department, Mangkolemba," stated the official notification by ADC Mangkolemba Imtiwapang Aier.
He also gave instructions to strictly comply with the order which will be monitored by the SDPO and OC Mangkolemba and would attract penalty under relevant sections of law for violators.
The NST department was also instructed to ensure that the Bus service continues to ply from Kumpani Ward junction.
