Brahmaputra Board reviews its ongoing works

[caption id="attachment_192272" align="aligncenter" width="565"] Members of the Brahmaputra Board in conference during the meeting in Dimapur on June 29.[/caption]   Eastern Mirror Desk Dimapur, June 29: The Brahmaputra Board held its 66th meeting at Naithu Resort Conference Hall in Dimapur on June 29. The meeting was hosted by the department of Irrigation and Flood Control of Nagaland. The meeting discussed about various agenda pertaining to the Northeast region. The chairman of Brahmaputra Board, Rajiv Yadav, while addressing members, said the board should work hard in order to pull out resource from each state department in concern. Secretary of the board, DJ Borgohain presented the agenda of the day. The agenda were discussed as part of reviewing its last 65th board meeting in Arunachal Pradesh. Some of the agenda were; Noa – Dihang Project, Kulsi MP, construction of raised platform, Simsang Dam project, Myntang mini hydel project in Meghalaya, feasibility studies for channelization of river Brahmaputra, etc. The meeting also highlighted the work progress of the 65th board meeting. Response to the agenda and updates about the works were made by the state representatives and board members. With regard to the Noa-Dihang project in Arunachal Pradesh, the government is going on with the discussion, further details of the project will be let known soon, stated a member representative from Arunachal Pradesh. The Brahmaputra Board is responsible for preparation and implementation of plans related to flood management, erosion control, drainage management, and water resources development.
