Abu Metha suggests on having a Nagamese literature

Kohima, Dec 19 (EMN): Advisor to Chief Minister of Nagaland, Abu Metha launched the official YouTube Channel of Meren commonly known by the name 'Boss Meren'.
An update issued on Dec. 19 informed that his channel was launched at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts, Jotsoma.
Boss Meren, who Eastern Mirror interviewed in the year 2013, is a Nagamese actor who has been in the industry for over two decades.
Speaking on the occasion, Metha congratulated Meren and his team for coming through the 20 years journey in producing and promoting Nagamese music and movies in the state.
It doesn’t matter in which language and medium music, movies and videos are made but its purpose is to entertain, he said.
He lauded the efforts of the Nagamese film/entertainment industry for working silently and unseen to many sections of the society to promote the local and indigenous productions.
Also, he suggested on having a Nagamese literature so that Nagas across Naga homeland, including in Myanmar can learn the common language.
Metha asserted that Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) would not only promote music but everything that is artistic while citing that it is now time to change the negatives through the positive achievements in different fields, including music, arts and sports.
'Government of Nagaland will continue to support the Naga artists because we want them to be ambassadors of Nagaland to the outside world to tell the positive stories of the state,' said Metha.
Nagamese film industry reaches out to the maximum number of audience and people look forward to get thoroughly entertained, he said, while expressing hope that the Nagamese entertainment industry would continue to remain persistent despite the tremendous challenges like resources, infrastructure, support, facilities and funding.
Remarking that language is a medium of bonding and unity among people, Metha said Nagas have 16 major tribes and several sub-tribes with different dialects while Nagamese has been a common language of communication between the different tribes though many intellectuals are not comfortable with the use of Nagamese.
Nagamese has been a blessing for the Naga people as one is able to communicate and understand each other across Naga home land, he said while emphasising on the need to promote Nagamese in the right way without losing the touch of the mother tongue.
Advisor TaFMA Theja Meru expressed excitement to collaborate for the official launch of Boss Meren YouTube Channel and work together in a collaborative mode.
Founder Chairman Zynorique Initiatives, Richard Belho said that the video has been made possible without any government funding but through the voluntary contribution and subsidized fees of services from the camera team to the recording studios, dance choreographers etc. in support of Boss Meren and also to bridge the gap between Nagamese movies, songs and contemporary dance.
