DIMAPUR, AUGUST 26: Bosco B.Ed College, Dimapur, organised an orientation programme for the first semester students on August 23 and 24. The orientation was meant to serve as an ice-breaker for the new students to enhance their interpersonal knowledge and relationships as well as to promote team spirit.
The students were divided into four groups – A, B, C and D. On the first day, the competitions included painting/ sketching, dance, singing (solo), extempore speech for groups A, B, C, and D. Groups A and C also participated in skit competition.On the second day, competitions were held in group singing, duet songs, solo dance and creative/ surprise items for all the four groups. Groups B and D also took part in skit competition.
On August 24, Dr. Fr. Thuruthel Joseph sdb, College Principal, thanked the teachers for successfully organising the orientation programme as well as for skillfully judging the various competitions. He congratulated the students for their active participation and scintillating performance. He gave away first prizes to Imchangam Paul (Group A) for extempore speech, Valen Sumi (Group C) for solo singing, Tshopre-u Tsuha (Group A) and Mhiesizokhono (Group C) for painting, Pangphoa and Temjenrenla (Group D) for duet and to Sudha Tamang for single dance.
For the group events, the principal presented awards to Group C (first prize), Group D (second prize), Group B (third prize) and Group A (fourth prize). He also announced that there would be painting/ drawing competition as well as poetry competition on Mother Teresa, who would be canonized as universal Saint by Pope Francis in Rome on September 4.
