DIMAPUR — In a run-up to the 79th Independence Day celebration, Project Sewak of the Border Road Organisation (BRO), in collaboration with the Blood Centre of Dimapur District Hospital, organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the central MI Room of its chief engineer headquarters on August 12.
A defence release stated that the event saw enthusiastic participation from 8 officers, 27 subordinates and 3 CPL, who donated blood, embodying the spirit of service and patriotism.

The camp attended by dignitaries including Brigadier PK Oberoi, chief engineer of Project Sewak, and Dr. Rogshen Longkumer, medical officer-in-charge of Blood Bank at District Hospital, Dimapur.
It stated that their presence highlighted the critical role of voluntary blood donation in addressing blood shortages and fostering community solidarity. It further stated that the event contributed to a noble cause and reinforced the values of unity and responsibility, resonating with the essence of Independence Day.
