DIMAPUR — The Border Area Cultural Exchange Programme was held on Thursday at Dan ITC in Noklak district along the Indo-Myanmar border, bringing together cultural troupes and community leaders to celebrate and promote cultural exchange through performing arts.
In his address, L. Ngon, president of the Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), lauded the collaboration between the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Nagaland, for organising the cultural programme.
He emphasised that culture serves as a powerful means to unite people and showcase diverse performing arts traditions.
Teisovikuolie Therie, Deputy Director-cum-Nodal Officer of the Department of Art & Culture, delivered the keynote address, while P Shingnya, chairman of Dan Village Council, delivered the welcome address.

DC Lohani also addressed the gathering on behalf of the 32nd Assam Rifles posted at the border camp.
The programme featured cultural performances by various troupes including New Pangsha Pou Hoi, New Pangsha Women Cultural Club, Tai Education Initiative from Jorhat, Assam, Old Pangsha Pou Hoi, Old Pangsha Women Cultural Club and Tai Education Initiative from Marani, Jorhat.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to all the participants in recognition of their contributions to the programme.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Khaming Khiamniungan, Assistant Research Officer.
