Dimapur, March 8 (EMN): Jalukie battalion of the Assam Rifles have confiscated 56 cases of liquor during search at mobile check post in Mhainamtsi under Peren district on March 7.
During the search at a mobile check post, troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a Tata Sumo vehicle bearing registered No NL 01T 8374 and apprehended five passengers including three women and two men for possessing 56 cases of liquor.
The arrested persons were identified as Gvang Thailung (22), son of Hoinaibung and resident of Sanjuram C block; Jakson (19), son of Gaika Zaplung and resident of Sanjuram C block; Idan (30), daughter of Namdui and resident of Saijang; Suineu (30), daughter of Alakbe and resident of Azailong; and Rongdia (32), daughter of Rongdeu and resident of Nkialwa.
Assam Rifles press release stated that accused alongwith recovered items were handed over to Jalukie Police Station for further investigation.
