DIMAPUR, MAY 2
‘Behind the gifts’ – a devotion book for early teenagers authored by Senchumbeni Samuel Odyuo - was released in a close knit affair on May 2 at the Aiers Enclave, Dimapur.
At 21 years, Senchumbeni, a literature student of Patkai Christian College, penned down the book in memory of her late father R Samuel Odyuo who she says has been an inspiration in all her walks of life especially with the muse to write the book.
“To love, be loved and to be accepted has no age limitations,” says Senchumbeni. And considering the early teenage years, which is the most sensitive and rebellious stage, the author says that “Behind the gifts - Devotions for early teenagers” is a devotion book written in simple English for early teenagers which could help an individual find about the gifts and behind the gifts as well with a reminder that we are never too young to live for Christ.
The 69 page book envelops 31 topics with contents on the search for God in all walks of life. ‘Behind the gifts’ also talks on beyond what we think and our story, as a gift with the blessing encountered each day.
The book was released by Rev. Dr. Ezamo Murry, Professor Emeritus of Christian Counseling and Pastoral Care, Eastern Christian Theological College, Jorhat, in the presence of the author Senchumbeni Samuel Odyuo, family members, friends and well wishers.
