DIMAPUR — A book titled ‘It ends to begin again,’ the second volume of poetry written by Elongshila Jamir, was released by Prof. J Longkumer, SAS Nagaland University, Medziphema campus, on June 23 at DCafe, Kohima.
Speaking at the book release event, Prof. Longkumer remarked that Elongshila Jamir has published two poetry books in just two years. She added that the young author is creative in every way and is finding her way in the world with such self-assurance.
Prof. Longkumer mentioned that the book ‘It ends to begin again’ captures renewed confidence, maturity, creative growth, unapologetic vulnerability and a realisation of the poet’s own self-worth.
Lanusenla Jamir, in the publisher’s note, congratulated the author on putting out a beautiful collection of sincerely honest poems. She hoped that the book would encourage budding writers to put pen to paper and begin writing, if not for the world to see, than for one's own pleasure.

In the reviews of the book, Elizabeth stated that the book explores the endless process of mental anguish and the quintessential sense of loneliness of the creative artist.
"I’m sure it will resonate with her readers and encourage them to face life with courage," she said adding, "Whether you are a veteran poetry enthusiast or a newcomer to poetry, this book will make sure it gives a gentle nudge that stirs your own desires, struggles, regrets and personal growth that often go unnoticed within you."
Elongshila Jamir, in her author’s note, shared that while working on the book, it made her ponder on the delicate affinity that humans share with nature that is so intimate and so profound that the two remain almost identical. She added that the changes and the cycle that nature is made to go through, through the changing of seasons, humans too are made to go through the same cycle of changes in their lives. She also mentioned how the cycle ends, only to begin again and reflected on the continuity of things despite its transient nature.
She concluded her note by acknowledging people who have held her hand in the making of the book, especially her parents, saying that being able to do and explore something that she loves at an age when she cannot support herself, was all because of her parents' love and support.
