Dr. Libemo Kithan’s book ‘Naga Village Formation’ launched in Wokha, exploring Lotha Naga migration and heritage.

WOKHA — A book titled “Naga Village Formation”, authored by Dr. Libemo Kithan, associate professor, Department of History, Mount Tiyi College (MTC), Wokha, was launched at his residence in Wokha town on Saturday.
The event was attended by MLA Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe as the special invitee.
Speaking at the event, Humtsoe said that Dr. Kithan’s work is more than an academic study, describing it as a labour of love for the people. He maintained that the book preserves the stories, structure, and soul of Naga heritage.
“Through his research, he has built a bridge that connects our past to the future,” Humtsoe remarked, while acknowledging the author’s passion and sacrifices.

Dr. Kithan briefed the gathering on the process of bringing out the book, explaining that “Naga Village Formation” is an abstract of his PhD thesis, “Dynamics in Village Formation among the Lotha Nagas, with Special Reference to Wokha Village”.
He stated that the book is a refined version of his research, which includes 12 publications, and informed that his work identified five diverse migrations of Lotha villages leading to the present formation and expansion of settlements.
The book was blessed by Rev. Dr. Renbi Rangthank, executive secretary of LBCA, while the unveiling was done by the special invitee.
