Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): A book ‘Kumari: Kathmandu’s Enigmatic Goddess,’ written by a professor of religion at Clark Theological College, Rev. Dr. K. Danbir Rai, was released by the principal of the college Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener during a function of the CTC’s 46th thanksgiving day on November 10.
The organisers issued updates on Sunday informing about the event.
Giving a brief introduction about the book, the author said it deals with the Kumari tradition among the Hindu Newars. Reading through the book will inform readers to uncover religious, social, cultural and political scenario in Kathmandu, the updates explained.
“The author said that the book will be helpful both for missionaries to Kathmandu, Nepal as well as for scholars who are committed and are searching for gender equality, women empowerment, religious harmony and divine presence in a mundane world reading this book is relevant and defining,” the press release stated.
The book was stated to be a ‘research based book’ and one that historians, culturists, politicians, mythologists, philosophers, researchers and students would require.
