DIPHU — The body of a 36-year-old man from Dimapur, who drowned at the popular Langvouku Waterfalls in Karbi Anglong district of Assam, was recovered on Tuesday afternoon.

Nungshasunep Walling reportedly went missing on Sunday while visiting the waterfall with a friend.

The incident occurred around 3:30 pm on July 14, as Walling and his friend were at the crowded picnic spot. Tragedy struck when Walling disappeared underwater. Although locals managed to rescue his friend, they were unable to locate Walling.

Following the incident, a joint search operation was launched by the State Disaster Response Forces (SDRF) of both Assam and Nagaland, along with local authorities. After a two-day effort, Walling’s body was finally recovered around 3 pm on Tuesday.
