
Flower exhibits at the Annual Flower Show 2025 organised by
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
- DIMAPUR — Don
Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Kohima, celebrated its Annual Flower
Show 2025 on May 31 at the school auditorium on the theme ‘Bloom with purpose.’
- The event was a vibrant celebration of nature, creativity,
and purposeful living, bringing together students, staff, and guests in an
atmosphere filled with colour, fragrance and meaning, the school stated in an
update.
- T Amenla, District Horticulture Officer, Tseminyu, the
special guest for the event, in her speech, lauded the school’s efforts in
promoting horticultural awareness and encouraged students to find purpose in
nurturing both their talents and the environment.

- “The Annual Flower Show is not merely a celebration of
beauty and nature; it is a powerful platform for aesthetic and environmental
appreciation. It reflects Don Bosco Higher Secondary School’s deep commitment
to holistic education—where students are nurtured to grow not only in
creativity but also in responsibility and purpose.
- “I commend the school for fostering such meaningful
experiences that inspire young minds to bloom with intention and care,” Amenla
said.
- A major attraction of the event was the stunning display of
floral and artistic creations. The school auditorium came alive with a
breathtaking variety of exhibits including dry flower arrangements, potted
plants, fresh floral displays, fruit and vegetable carvings, lush greens, and
other innovative artistic pieces crafted by students.
- Each class was allotted space to showcase their creativity,
turning the entire hall into a garden of colours and imagination.
- In addition to the exhibits, cultural and thematic performances
enriched the programme. A special number was presented by young Kathleen of
Class 3A, while Vikesono from Class 9B delivered a reflective piece based on
the event’s theme ‘Bloom with purpose,’ reminding everyone of the inner
potential that can bloom with care and intention.
- Earlier, the programme commenced with Scripture reading by
Himatoli Sheqi of Class 12 (Science A), followed by a prayer led by Fr. Dr.
Mattam Xavier, SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Kohima.
- Fr. Innocent, SDB, Principal of DBHSSK, delivered the
welcome address and a presentation, highlighting the importance of the flower
show as a platform for environmental education and artistic expression.
- The programme concluded with the singing of the school
anthem and the official declaration and ribbon cutting of the Flower Show 2025.
