Dimapur, Dec. 7: Realising the current trend of cancer incidence and a good number of patients going out of Nagaland for treatment, Eden Medical Centre has partnered with BLK Hospital, Delhi, to provide highly specialised healthcare facilities to the people of Dimapur and other neighbouring areas.
BLK Super Speciality Hospital announced the launch of its Out Patient Department (OPD) services on December 7 at a press conference at Eden Medical Centre.
Dr. Lima Imchen, managing director of Eden Medical Centre, said BLK team of specialists have stepped in to help the people and made treatment available for different diseases.
“This is the start of a new venture to refine the services for the people of Nagaland in the months and years to come,” Dr. Lima added.
Highlighting the availability of advanced facilities, Dr. Dharma Choudhary, senior consultant and director of BLK Centre for Bone Marrow Transplant, said BLK Hospital, with its advanced facilities and highly experienced team, has successfully conducted all kinds of bone marrow transplants.
“We will also be giving proper guidance for treatment if needed to be taken outside Nagaland if the facilities are not available at Eden,” he said.
Dr. Manav Wadhawan, director of BLK Institute for Digestive and Liver Diseases, said the venture was a relationship between the BLK team and people of Nagaland.
“We are here to develop faith in the system in Nagaland and want to strengthen medical assistance in the State,” Wadhawan said.
Another specialist Dr. Bikash Gurung, consultant and surgical oncology from BLK Cancer Centre, said the figures over the years is rising alarmingly and continuously happening because people don’t give importance to pre-diagnosis of cancer.
The three specialists from BLK Hospital informed that they would be frequenting Eden Medical Centre every month on a rotation basis starting from December 8.
