Wokha, March 22 (EMN): Maintenance works on Wokha town’s urban highway stretching seven kilometres have begun, much to the curiosity of the town’s public who watched with much enthusiasm and interest as a black top road in the town stretched on. Wokha remains one of the most neglected districts in the state in terms of infrastructure and development.

Y Akato Zhimomi of Vertex Construction Ltd., said that less budget leads to lesser quality infrastructure for the society. All tactical and strategic assessments with systematic work schedules will lead to a certain level of quality job; Wokha’s road has to be dealt with major repair works, it was informed.

The maintenance works were scheduled to be completed in January 2017 but due to situations related to the Urban Local Body elections in the state, work had to commence late. He assured to provide better road maintenance works.
The maintenance work will also include side drainage, culvert and a retaining wall, all with a budget of 3 crore, it was informed.
