Dimapur, Jan. 28 (EMN): The Nagaland unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has refuted news reports of the saffron party having come to a ‘seat sharing’ agreement with other political parties for the Nagaland assembly elections scheduled for Feb. 27.
“The BJP parliamentary board has not finalised the seat sharing agreement with any party as yet and therefore the decision for pre-poll alliance has not been taken as yet. We are in the process of arriving at an agreement and the decision will be declared at the appropriate time.
“All speculations about possible permutations and combinations remains just that: speculations. Till the alliance is officially announced by the BJP no news about an alliance sans seat sharing have any real bearing or basis,” informed a statement from BJP legislator Mmhonlumo Kikon, who is also the co-convenor of the party’s election management committee.
