Dimapur, May 29 (EMN): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Wokha unit, has resolved to work unitedly to ensure victory of BJP candidates in all the four assembly constituencies in the forthcoming general elections. In this connection, the district office bearers have decided to undertake tour to all the constituencies in order to strengthen the party.
The resolutions to this effect were taken in its 5th executive meeting at the party office, Wokha, on May 29. Among other resolutions, the party reaffirmed its support the leadership of L Meribemo Kinghen as the president BJP Wokha district and also support the clarion call made by NBCC for clean elections and continue working in order to provide corruption free government in the State.
District executives from 37, 38, 39 and 40 assembly constituencies along with Dr. TM Lotha, Advsor of Treasury & Accounts, Labour & Employment, Skill Development; Yanghose Sangtam, Wokha district BJP in-charge; and intending candidate from 37 AC Chubathung Odyuo attended the meeting.
Addressing the members, Chubathung Odyuo said BJP has nothing to do with religion as it is a political movement which is acknowledged by the world for its works under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
He encouraged his colleagues and party workers to continue working to ensure victory of the party in coming elections.
BJP Wokha district in-charge Yanghose Sangtam has acknowledged the works undertaken by party workers in Wokha district which is going stronger. He urged the party men not to be confused as the party ideology is set up on a democratic and secular principle. He further stated that central government is ready to implement all possible development by reaching the unreached.
Dr. TM Lotha reminded that BJP is the largest political party and is still growing. He has likened the Congress party to a ‘sinking ship’ adding it has no agenda but to criticise the BJP on religion ground.
Lotha urged the party men to work with hope as BJP is for the people. He said ‘half cooked people’ addressing on religion is a sham on Christianity faith. He said that NBCC and BJP are closely working together to ensure free and fair elections in the coming State elections.
Lotha also only BJP can provide good governance as it believe in equal opportunity and focused on development.
The programme was chaired by Amos Humtsoe, president BJYM Wokha, while the welcome address was delivered by L Meribemo Kinghen, president BJP Wokha. Mrs Thungchano Tsanglao said the invocation and the vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs Nzano Kikon, president BJMM.
