Wokha, Sep. 16 (EMN): Wokha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has endorsed the call of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) on clean elections and resolved working towards providing a corrupt free government in the State.
The resolution to this effect was taken during its 6th executive meeting held at its district office on September 16 with Dr. TM Lotha, Advisor of Treasury and Accounts, as the special guest.
Among other resolutions, the unit has reaffirmed full support and co-operation to the party under the leadership of its State president Visazolie Lhoungu to strengthen the party from booth level to higher level.
The unit also resolved to put up potential candidates in all the four constituencies and to work dedicatedly to ensure its victory. Besides, it welcomed any new members to enrol in the party and also give direct active membership to tall leaders, retired bureaucrats and leaders from different political parties who opted to join the party.
The unit has also resolved to undertake tour in all the four mandals during October in order to strengthen the party from grass-roots to district level.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. TM Lotha urged the party men to vigorously in order to strengthen the party and to ensure victory of the party candidates in all the constituencies in the ensuing elections.
With the dedicated service from all the party workers, Lotha was hopeful that BJP would form government after 2018 elections in the State. He also shared the visions of the Union Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring development in the State and the entire North eastern states.
Lotha also clarified that BJP is a political party based on secularism under the constitution of India. Stating that BJP is against corruption, he said the party stands to eradicate and set up a corruption-free government. He added that BJP in the State has supported the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) initiative on clean elections.
Earlier in the day, cleanliness drive was conducted by BJP Wokha district to commemorate the birthday anniversary of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which falls on September 17. To mark the occasion, Dr. TM Lotha planted a tree sapling along with party workers in the district.
