A state level BJP Nagaland meeting was held at Hotel Japfu, Kohima today coinciding with the tour programme of the State Prabhari Farooq Khan, who could not attend due to other developments in Delhi.
The meeting, chaired by new state party president Visasolie Lhoungu, commenced with an invocation by Dr. Ketholezo Sorunuo, a party’s senior member.
The state president welcomed the party members across the state and thanked the senior party leaders and the members for their confidence reposed in him to don the mantle of the state president.
Expressing regret that the meeting had to be scheduled on a Sunday, he explained that it was unavoidable as the schedule had to be coordinated with the itinerary of the visiting central leader.
The president laid out the statewide party organisational programmes and directed all the district presidents to keep with the schedules and programmes of the party. He exhorted the party members to continue to work hard for the continuous development of the party.
Dr. M, Chuba Ao, the outgoing State president thanked the party workers who were with him throughout his tenures and shared his experiences and advices for the upliftment of the party through challenging situations.
R. Sopu Angami, Senior leader and Ashok Chakra recipient enthused the party men to put continuous efforts to take the party further under the new leader. He advised on how the party should tackle obstacles and challenges and expressed happiness that party’s state unit has become larger and should strive to achieve many more laurels.Vihoshe Sumi, senior leader, elucidated the various aspects of the party organization and functioning, the areas that need to be remedied and those aspects that need to be strengthened to take the party to 2018.
Kenei M.Kesiyie and Vilabeinuo enthralled the gathering with a melodious rendition of a popular number which delivered the message of working together and making the party grow stronger.
Jaangsillung Gonmei, BJP Nagaland in a press note said, Prashant Arora, Gen. Secretary (Org), also spoke at length on the party organizational matters. He directed all the district presidents to submit the requisite details of the newly elected district officials at the earliest.
