Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): BJP national general secretary and in-charge of North East (NE) and Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), Ram Madhav, has conveyed about the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s seriousness on resolving the vexed Naga political issue which would be a win-win situation for Nagaland.
In order to find a lasting solution to the longstanding vexed Naga issue, he said the Prime Minister had initiated dialogues with NSCN (IM) and subsequently with six NPGs. He expressed hope that NSCN (K) would also make up their minds towards resumption of the ceasefire with the Government of India in the larger interest of the Naga public.
A press release issued by the State BJP general secretary Eduzu Theluo stated that Ram Madhav had also informed about the Prime Minister’s genuine concern for bringing lasting peace and development in the state of Nagaland.
With regards to the NPF’s severing ties with the BJP in Nagaland, Ram Madhav said they have been in alliance with NPF for the last more than two decades.
He has also taken note about the current crisis within the ruling NPF party in Nagaland, He, however, refused to make any comment as it was internal matter of the NPF party.
Ram Madhav also called on the chief minister, TR Zeliang, at the latter’s official residence on November 8.
Ram Madhav visited the State on November 7 and 8 in connection with the upcoming State general elections where he met the State BJP leaders and cadres in Kohima.
During his two-day stay at the State capital, he reviewed overall situation in the State and impressed upon the party workers to work hard to form the next government in the State.
