Dimapur, Nov. 2 (EMN): BJP Peren division along with the Kuki community celebrated ‘Chavang Kut’ (post harvest festival) in Lilen village under Peren district on November 1.
Senior BJP functionary, Zandi Domta, graced the celebration as the chief guest. In his address, the chief guest called upon the people to unite in order to usher in peace and development in the area.
The chief guest also spoke on the political scenario in the State and declared to contest the ensuing general election on BJP ticket from 6 Tening Assembly COnstituency.BJP Peren district president, Huzantadbo Meriam, who also spoke on the occasion, stated that BJP in Peren district is working hard to raise a BJP candidate as MLA in the coming general election.
The Kut committee member pronounced the vote of thanks, while the benediction was said by the church secretary.
Later, the party workers along with the mandal and booth level committees held a meeting on the importance and necessity of booth level in all the villages. The meeting discussed and resolved to work hard from grassroot level and strengthen the position of the BJP party.
