- DIMAPUR — Aimed
at reaching out to the grassroots and spread awareness of the developmental
initiatives undertaken by the BJP-led government, the Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP) Nagaland state officially launched the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan 2025 campaign
on Saturday at Niuland town hall on Saturday.
- Addressing the gathering, Basu Damani, vice president of BJP
Nagaland and co-convener of the Abhiyan, informed that the campaign is a
nationwide initiative to connect with citizens in the remotest corners. He also
pointed out the transformational changes brought under the BJP government, an
update from the party stated.
- He highlighted various central schemes and projects aimed at
public welfare, noting that the BJP government has prioritised digitalisation
to ensure direct benefit to citizens, eliminating the need for middlemen.

- He called on BJP Kaaryakartas to actively disseminate
information about government schemes so that the benefits reach every
household, especially in rural areas.
- Damani also criticised opposition parties for allegedly
spreading false narratives about the BJP both in the state and across the
country.
- Speaking at the event, Khevishe Sema, co-chief spokesperson
and member of the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan, urged the Kaaryakartas to monitor the
effective implementation of welfare schemes on the ground. He reiterated that
the growth and strength of the party lie in the hands of grassroots workers.
- He also lauded the people of Niuland for electing BJP
councilors, highlighting that Niuland remains the only council in the state
governed solely by the BJP without any alliance.
