National vice president BJP ST Morcha, Johny G Rengma today said, K. Therie had revolted against Dr.SC Jamir, not because of his opposition to Bed Rock of Naga Society which was published by NPCC and Congress government, but because he was not comfortable with his portfolio at that time.
On Naga political dialogue, Rengma said, “Nearly 60 years of dynastical Congress regime never seriously attempted dialogue with Naga underground except outside the Nerhuvian family. Narasimha Rao extended unconditional dialogue and subsequent BJP led NDA government did try to resolve Naga issue. The Naga issue returned to its old cold storage that Naga people can’t deny the truth. Nerhuvian policy of Statehood was and is the final settlement to Naga problem, so we can’t blame local Congress leaders here. We can only sympathize them and these Naga underground groups can best explain to them including the rest of the Naga public”.
On Rani Gadinliu and religious conversion as alleged, he said, “It’s Jawaharlal Nehru who picked up Gadinliu and anointed her with Padma Bushan as one of the Freedom fighters. The rest of her movements and action are known by every Naga. About Rani Gadinliu, the inherent government is implementing whatever central government has in the past initiated. On Congress allegation on secularism, Rengma recalled the burning down of Churches in NE and how missionaries were driven out from NE especially from Nagaland and how much they suffered under Jawaharlal Nehru Congress and his daughter Indira Gandhi’s government. “The Naga public can best explain their experience.”
On corruption, Rengma said, “The present PCC Chief Therie was an important cabinet minister under the same government where Nagaland media not by BJP or erstwhile (NNDP) presently NPF branded the then Congress government as “Ali Baba and forty thieves” to refresh their past memories.”
“Let’s be less cynical on each other and contribute how to move forward for our people to fruits. Leadership is not only authority but is a responsibility with a huge burden,” Rengma said.
