Stating this in a press release, the morcha's president, Vineizo Trürho, said that the delegation had apprised him on the need to create a separate department for tribal affairs as tribal funds were 'often implemented improperly as it is handled by several departments.'
The press release stated that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has assured to discuss with the stakeholders and take steps accordingly. The chief minister has also advised the delegation to work hard for the success of the National Democratic Alliance in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2019.
Rio appreciated the national policy of demonetisation and the GST, which according to him, were good for the country in the long run.
"The people of this country do not realise the benefit of this policy as it does not yield short term benefits," the release quoted the chief minister.
