BJP Manipur Pradesh has observed the party's 35th Foundation Day today at the party office at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal. Party leaders denied the accusations that BJP is an anti-Christian political party.State party leaders such as S Sheityabhama, S Mangiton, Jaydeva Sharma, Prof Gangmumei Kamei, Mahila Morcha vice-president A Sharda Devi and Ak Pramodini attended the observation, among many others. President Th Chaoba, however, could not attend the function as he is out of station.
Speaking at the function, Prof Gangmumei Kamei rubbished criticisms of BJP being an anti-Christian (or pro-Hindu to be precise) party and claimed that BJP embraces all religion. He further added that the mass enrolment of people of hill districts of Manipur to BJP is a good example that BJP loves Christianity and Christian people trust the party.
Most of the leaders who spoke at the function slammed the Congress-led state government for its poor performance and its corruptive ways.
