Singh, who was addressing a press conference at Congress Bhavan, Kohima on Wednesday, said the BJP ‘made all sorts of claims’ in its 35-page long manifesto.
“What they have done, no data have been provided, no statistics have been provided, no report card have been shown to the people yet they are talking about the tall promises with full fervour”, she alleged.
Singh added the NDPP is yet to bring out the manifesto and they were “looking forward to more lies and to the brazenness of the government”.
'It is time for the people of Nagaland to see clearly that a government that has ruled the state over 20 years, which is here again to ask for your vote, have not presented a report card and it is high time’, she said.
The Congress will raise questions and will show the “mirror” to current government, she said while urging the people to see through the reality clearly.
Singh, who reached Kohima from Congress meetings in Mokokchung district on Wednesday, said she got a “first-hand” experience of the “pathetic infrastructure, roads, electricity and water supply, the mockery of promises by the NDPP-BJP coalition government”.
She said the “ground” realities of the condition of the roads, youth deprived of jobs, erratic power outages, and empty taps devoid of water. She also reacted to BJP leader and Deputy CM Y Patton’s statement: “Nagaland has risen to be a shining star of the North East because of your faith in the BJP”.

"The youth of Mokokchung vehemently questions the lies played upon them, they ask where are the jobs promises for them”, she said.
At various public meetings, she said to have met youth bodies that vowed not to sell their votes but to vote for actuality.
She also pointed out the issue of violence and of the stone pelting incident at Ungma village that was brought to the notice of the police. While questioning the root cause of the violence, she said ‘it is owing to the divisive politics of hatred, the tendency of clinging to the power of the BJP and NDPP, and the refusal to let go of the power that is leading youth to fight among themselves’.
“Hence, it is time to question those who are sabotaging the future of Nagaland for they must cling to power by all means. It is to be for the BJP to show its report card”, she added. (Kohima, EMN)
