Dimapur, Feb. 26: The national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party Ram Madhav and Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called on Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu Sunday afternoon at the CM’s private residence at Ruleizou in Kohima town.
A note from the Chief Minister’s Office stated that the BJP leaders congratulated the new chief minister. Also present at the brief meeting was former chief minister and now DAN coordination committee chairman and Advisor (finance) TR Zeliang.
“Himanta suggested that the entire northeast be made a single tourist circuit to promote tourism in the region and revealed that the annual Hornbill Festival of Nagaland has been included in the tourism promotion programme of the government of Assam,” the updates stated.
“He opined that further discussions be held in the next meeting of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) to ensure all-round development of the entire region. The visiting leaders of the BJP left for Guwahati later in the afternoon.”
