Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): BJP Kohima Division along with its frontal organisations and the five mandal have expressed shocked over the expulsion of Dr. Khriezovolie Kesiyie and Seyiekhrielie Nagi from the party and requested the State president Visasolie Lhoungu to clear the ongoing confusion at the earliest in the greater interest of the party.
The Kohima division Yuva Morcha, Mahila Morcha, Kisan Morcha, Minority Cell, Traders Cell, State Council members, district executive members and five mandals of Kohima district excluding 9 Kohima town and Northern Angami-ll found the unilateral decision taken by State BJP president Visasolie Lhoungu as ‘unconstitutional.’
“It is regrettable to note that BJP State president, first of all, did not care to prove any of the false allegations leveled against BJP Kohima district president Dr. Khriezovolie Kesiyie to be actually true but rather took the hasty decision to replace him and appointed a new president of Kohima BJP district,” a press release issued by Kohima division BJYM general secretary Nelson Semy stated. It added that State BJP then took another decision to expel Seyiekhrielie Nagi from the party without following any procedures of the party constitution.
In the light of the above stated development the unit mandals and members has sought clarification in order to remove confusion.
It questioned how the State president took the action of expelling fellow members from the party by quoting Article XXV, clauses 2 and 10 of the party constitution as mentioned in the local dailies. It has reproduced clause 2 which states that “A State Disciplinary Action Committee can take action only against Units subordinate to it and individuals other than Members of the National Council and Members of Parliament,” and clause 10 which states “The national president if he so desires, may suspend any member and then start disciplinary proceedings against him.” It stated that nothing was mentioned about expulsion but only ‘may suspend.’
It, therefore, stated that the expulsion order included the sub clauses c, d, e and f under Article XXV Breach of Discipline.
As per Article XXV clause 6, the aforementioned units and mandals has demanded to know as to how the final decision of expulsion was passed without even giving an opportunity to the members to explain and answer any of such charges and even before being proven guilty? “If any anti-party activities were carried out, why could not the State authority point out and mention any of such activities to be actually prevalent and show positive stand for the greater interest of the party?, the statement questioned.
Meanwhile, the Kohima division Yuva Morcha, Mahila Morcha, Kisan Morcha, Minority cell, Traders cell, State Council Members, District Executive Members and five mandals have requested the State president Visasolie Lhoungu to clear the ongoing confusion at the earliest in the greater interest of the party.
