Dimapur, May 7 (EMN): The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a “North East Sambesh” at Bengaluru on May 6 for people of the Northeast residing at Bengaluru.
Around 10,000 delegates from the NE states of Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh have participated with their respective cultural items in the event, updates informed. All India BJP general secretary, Ramlal, was the main resource person. The conference was first of its kind in south India where respective ministers from each state could interact with its communities, it was informed.
Speaking in the meeting on behalf of the Nagaland unit of the BJP, deputy Chief Minister Y Patton appealed to the gathering to support the party as the people back at home also voted for the BJP in ‘to see the changes in the region.’ Similarly, he appealed to the people of Karnataka to ‘experience changes under the NDA government.’
The BJP delegations led by Karnataka election coordinator Dr. HM Chandrasekhar interacted with Christian leaders and communities of Mount Zion Pentecostal International Church at RK Puram, Bengaluru, the updates informed, which was attended by the Bishop Francis Jackson, who is also the chairman of Karnataka Christian Federation, the updates informed.
