Kohima, March 7 (EMN): The national president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), minority morcha, Abdul Rasheed Ansari, expressed the party’s willingness to serve the Northeast people at the ground level.
The basic aim of the morcha is to ensure that the schemes are implemented at the grassroots level and the benefits of the welfare schemes are availed by those who are entitled, Ansari said at a press conference on March 6 in Kohima.
On his maiden visit to Nagaland, the national president attended the state BJP minority morcha sammelan held on March 6 at the state capital. The convention witnessed representatives from other neighbouring states including Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura. It discussed on the matter of organisational work, implementation of government schemes, and uplift of backward tribals and poor people.
The party also discussed on the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Ansari stated that the party workers would undertake door-to-door campaign, meeting with beneficiaries of the government, meet influential key voters, scholars, religious leaders, and educationists in order to get their support.
The national president expressed hope that the NDA government would be re-elected in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. He added that the government under the leadership of the prime minister, Narendra Modi, has taken all steps to ensure security and pride of the country.
He emphasised that the central government has envisaged developing the North eastern region thereby extending a separate ministry at the centre for economic, social, education uplift of the people of the NE people.
Nagaland president of BJP minority morcha, Rajiv Jha, requested to constitute a minority commission in Nagaland. The main intention was to provide minorities with facilities.
