Kohima, Sep. 28 (EMN): Luizinho Faleiro, General Secretary AICC in-charge of NE states (excluding Assam) during a press conference at Kohima said the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) was trying to bulldozed their ideology on the people of Northeast India even to the extent of overtaking and forcefully injecting it into educational systems.
Faleiro, who was on an official visit to the state for a consultative party meet stated that the BJP were hell bent to profess and dictate their ideology in the north east region by going to the extent of abusing and overtaking the hallowed social institutions like educational institutions. He added that the present imbroglio in Manipur University was an ample example where they employed a known pro-BJP vice Chancellor with strong RSS an BJP ties.
Stating about the present scenario of the state, the veteran congressman said that Nagaland was going backwards instead of going forward with the times by citing that the pathetic road conditions in Nagaland were a shining example of their party policy all across the country. He also said it would be impossible to think about the conditions of the rural roads in the state if the condition of the roads linking to the capital from Dimapur, the commercial hub of Nagaland was in this pathetic condition.
He also said that Congress party is seriously looking forward to re-organize and re-strengthen the party in the state from the grass root level. He also said the party will mainly focus on giving platform and promote youth in the party activities. He also divulged that a massive leadership orientation programme especially focussed on youth leaders is in the offing.
He also appealed on behalf of AICC for the former congressmen and party workers to come together and strengthen the party and be the voice of the common people in their endeavour to fight the culture of intolerance and hate which was alien to the people of the North east people.
Pradyut Bordoloi, Secretary AICC in-charge, Nagaland attacked the BJP by calling them as ‘pathological liars’ as history speaks for itself. He defended his statement by citing the visit of Narendra Modi during Hornbill festival after he became the prime Minister of India when he compared the eight north east state as eight precious gems for the entire country only to return back to Delhi and suspending the special category status for development of North east region and other policies meant for the region.
He also stated that the living conditions in the country are going from bad to worse not only in. Nagaland but the entire country. He also assured that the Congress as a political party will ensure that it will give their all to protect the aspirations and dreams of the common people as citizens living in a free democratic state as enshrines in the constitution.
Replying to a question about the Framework agreement between the Government of India and NSCN(IM), he hoped that some solution will come soon for the benefit of the Nagas but he also shared his apprehension that the BJP will continue to bluff and betray the people of Nagaland with tall promises with no solutions as there is no sincerity from their side.
Speaking about the lack of enthusiasm from the centre to contain and oversee the plight of the people affected with landslides and other natural calamities in the state, Bordoloi stayed that his regional pride as someone from the Northeast was hurt badly looking at the chief minister running around in Delhi searching for aid only to return empty handed.
During the press conference, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee also revealed the joining of Akavi N Zhimomi, former AAP candidate from Ghaspani-I and Akheli, State Executive Member of AAP Nagaland into the party fold.
