BJP Alongtaki Mandal counters Congress claims over PMGSY road and bridge projects worth about INR 40.74 crore.
DIMAPUR — The Bharatiya Janata Party’s 30th Alongtaki Mandal has countered claims made by the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency Congress Committee over Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) projects in the constituency, maintaining that road and bridge projects collectively amounting to approximately INR 40.74 crore were achieved through initiatives of the government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
In a press release dated September 30, the BJP mandal stated that while it respects the right of every political party and organisation to express its views and highlight development issues, it is equally important that the public record accurately reflects the efforts and initiatives through which the projects were achieved.
The statement came after the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency Congress Committee earlier credited Member of Parliament and Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President S Supongmeren Jamir with taking the initiative in securing PMGSY road infrastructure projects for the constituency.
The mandal stated that the PMGSY projects, comprising roads and bridges within the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency, collectively amount to approximately INR 40.74 crore.
According to the mandal, the projects were achieved through the positive initiative of the government led by Rio, in whose cabinet 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency MLA Temjen Imna Along serves as Minister of Tourism and Higher Education.

The mandal listed four road projects under PMGSY-IV: L025, Lirmen to Tsuremmen, valued at INR 10.38 crore; L030-T01, JRR Junction to Aonokpu, INR 2.46 crore; L042-L026, L026 to Longjemdang, INR 2.60 crore; and L043-T-01, T-01 to Moayimti, INR 3.46 crore.
It also listed four bridge projects under PMGSY-III: Tsuboyong, valued at INR 3.12 crore; Tsurang, INR 12.35 crore; Tsuzaba, INR 2.87 crore; and Nanaka, INR 3.50 crore.
The mandal stated that the approval and sanction of the road projects under PMGSY-III and PMGSY-IV stand as a testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision towards Viksit Bharat 2047, in which the journey towards a developed Nagaland is also strongly envisioned.
Furthermore, the mandal stated that an additional seven to eight road projects spanning over 100 km have been actively pursued and are currently at an advanced stage of consideration with the Central government to improve and upgrade connectivity across the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency.
Responding to the Congress committee, the mandal alleged that any attempt by the Congress party in the constituency to take credit for developmental achievements was “an unrealistic effort to mislead and build a false narrative for selfish political adventures”.
It further stated that both the Central and State governments have been under an NDA alliance involving the BJP and NPF since 2014 and claimed that the sanctioning of the projects was the result of the People’s Democratic Alliance’s achievement in the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency.
“The true measure of any development initiative lies in the benefit it delivers to the public. The BJP remains steadfast in its commitment to constructive politics and development-orientated governance and shall incessantly continue our efforts towards improving public connectivity and infrastructure,” the release stated.
