Dimapur, Jan. 28 (EMN): The last day of the Bishu mini Hornbill Festival 2019 that was being conducted at the Urban Haat in Dimapur concluded on January 28. The president of the Naga Council of Dimapur, T Pangerloba was the special guest of the event, updates on Monday from the DIPR stated.
Addressing the gathering, Pangerloba called Dimapur the backbone and eye of the people of Nagaland. The city is also regarded as a ‘mini India’ where different communities peacefully coexist, he said.
Speaking about the importance of preserving culture, Pangerloba told the gathering that culture and traditions are the identity of a community. If people lose their tradition, he said, they lose their identity. He urged the people of the Kachari community to step up and move forward with the rest of the Nagas in all fields. Terming the Naga political issue a problem that was hampering the society , he called everyone to come together and work towards finding an early political settlement to the Naga political issue, and to move forward to a better future.
The second session of the event was marked by a literary competition and a cultural extravaganza.
