Kohima, Jan. 27 (EMN): A biography of an Ao Naga citizen I Lanu Toy, titled ‘Tsungchi samanir ka’ ( ‘A veracious pioneer’) was released coinciding with his 92nd birthday, at Hotel Vivor by Rev. Dr Mar Atsongchanger, executive secretary of the ABAM.
In his address, I Lanu Toy, fit as a fiddle despite his age, gave all praises to God for his success and leading him this far. He expressed gratitude to Repalemzung Longkumer, the author of his biography for all the trouble, sacrifice and the encouragements he gave during the two years’ time it took to make the book come to life.
"It was during the year 2016 when I was not feeling well, I was informed two young men came to meet me seeking my permission to write my biography,” he said. “I could not meet them as I was sick but they persisted and returned back, seeking my blessings to write my biography and this time with a twist of fate, I felt drawn to their genuine proposal and thus the journey to write the biography began."
Repalemzung Longkumer, the author of the biography, who is also the editor of 'Lenjeter' a monthly magazine thanked I Lanu Toy for giving him the opportunity to write about his biography and whom he said was a role model for many people regardless of religion, race or tribe for his integrity, discipline and astute work ethics. He added that the title of the book, 'Tsungchi samanir ka' (A veracious pioneer) was coined by Senka Ao, a veteran journalist and a writer. He thanked all who came forward to help him in writing the book.
