Big Bazaar to open its first mega store in Nagaland

The launch was announced at a press conference by Nibu Nagi, property owner and Manish Agarwal, CEO (Fashion at Big Bazaar - popularly known by its initials fbb) Big Bazaar East. “We at Big Bazaar are delighted to serve the beautiful people of Nagaland and are excited about this new journey” Agarwal said adding that the store was also designed while keeping in mind the requirements and needs of the people of Dimapur. Agarwal further informed that with the opening of a Big Bazaar outlet in Nagaland, employment is generated. “The employees that have been hired at Big Bazaar Dimapur are all from Nagaland and have been hired and trained for the past one year” he said adding that over 60,000 people have been employed across 256 stores in India. The 25000 square feet, five floor space located at Nagi House, Circular Road will be a ‘one stop destination’ dedicated to food, fashion and home. It was informed that the outlet will offer “massive discounts and price drops” on over 1500 everyday use items. Property owner Nibu Nagi and also one of the revenue sharing partners expressed his excitement about the launch of Big Bazaar in Nagaland. “The State is in a problem of having educated youths but with no jobs as the government jobs are all saturated” Nagi said pointing out that the State government should encourage more companies to come to Nagaland and solve the problem of unemployment. The new Big Bazaar store will also offer its customers to participate in the stores “mega properties” like ‘Sabse Saste Din’, Wednesday Bazaar, Public Holiday Sale and ‘Har Din Lowest Price’ etc. Big Bazaar was founded in 2001 and is one of India’s leading hypermarket chains. The store will showcase a complete range of clothing from well known brands, to different food items and home and personal care products from world leading brands for all age groups under one roof. The mega store is stated to be designed with smart and safe trial rooms, open aisles and well trained staff to “provide an effortless and delightful” shopping experience. The Big Bazaar store which is the fifth of its kind in the Northeast region is scheduled for inaugural by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on June 30 at 11 am.
